Built the Site - What Now?

You have had your web site designed and put on-line. Now you need to encourage your potential customers to look at it. With the enormous numbers of web sites on the Internet today, your customer is very unlikely to just stumble upon your site.

Search Engines

When people start looking for something on the Internet, the majority go to a search engine. There are hundreds of them out there, but a large percentage of surfers use the most popular ones, such as Yahoo.com and Altavista.com.

An expensive form of advertising on the Internet, and is not suitable for all situations. But it can be effective if used well.

Amazon.com was the first web site to introduce the idea of an affiliate programme in 1996. Amazon.com is a great example to see how well it can work - their logo is on the front page of thousands of web sites around the world.

An affiliate program owner only pays a commission for successful referrals (e.g. sign-ups for further information; confirmed sales, etc), and in the meantime their promotional links are on all their affiliate web sites displayed for FREE, for anybody to see, increasing your visibility, brand name, traffic, turnover and valuation.
